Kirkwood Mountain Resort

Although it’s a bit further a field than other area resorts, Kirkwood more than makes up for the longer drive with more average snowfall than any other Tahoe ski destination—53 feet, two inches to be exact. If the nearly vertical terrain of the backside and above Sentinel Bowl and the Palisades doesn’t get your blood pumping you might want to check your pulse.
